Performing Arts at Bodmin College

Course description

During the AS course you will work practically in developing professional practice in skills development and in performance or production. You will keep two working diaries-one for skills development and one on the final production. You will also be required to investigate into performing arts organisations, which will mean study visits to venues and guests from the cultural industries invited in, to talk.

You are required to create a case study and to give a presentation to the group on your findings!

During the A2 course you will need to develop your own CV and professional portfolio, further develop your repertoire of skills by presenting two contrasting productions and you complete your course with a professional theatre showcase where you present your best work to an invited audience including local VIPs from the world of the Arts.

Entry requirements

A grade C or above in Drama at GCSE or a Merit/Distinction at BTEC level 2 offers a good foundation but is not essential to have studied Drama at KS4 to undertake an A Level.
