Course description

Beauty therapy is a really exciting and rewarding industry. Qualified therapists have opportunities to advise and treat clients with a huge range of fabulous services.

Course content

A minimum of 54 credits is required. All the Mandatory units must be achieved, 45 credits, and a minimum of 12 credits from the optional units.
Mandatory Units
010 Ensure responsibility for actions to reduce risks to health & safety
020 Promote additional services or products to clients.
021 Develop and maintain your effectiveness at work
007 Provide facial skin care treatment.
008 Enhance the appearance of eyebrows and lashes.
009 Carryout waxing services
038 Provide manicure services
039 Provide pedicure services.

Entry requirements

You will need to attend an information session and complete a pre-course assignment.


Practical skills will be assessed through observation of performance. Underpinning knowledge and understanding will be assessed using self study tasks and external assessments

Future opportunities

You can work in a variety of job roles in the UK or abroad, such as land-based salons and spas, as well as cruise ships, (sailing around the world), and training / teaching for beauty therapy companies and colleges. You will need to have a Level 3 qualification to further your career in beauty therapy; therefore we recommend you continue your studies on an appropriate level 3 Beauty Therapy or Level 3 Complementary therapy course

How will I learn?

You will learn in a modern, well equipped environment; state-of-the-art beauty treatment rooms, using industry standard equipment and high quality products. Access to the latest online learning materials will be available, delivered using Smartboards and Plasma screen TVs. The course will be taught using a variety of approaches these include; practical work, directed learning on computers, independent study and tutorials.
