'On the job' training at your place of work with some college

based study.

Course content

This course aims to give apprentices a wide range of highways

maintenance operations including:

• Efficient working practices

• Health and Safety

• Signing, lighting and guarding

• Utility service detection and avoidance

• Safe excavation practices

• Permanent reinstatement of highways surfaces

The apprenticeship framework includes functional skills

(Maths and English), Industry recognised level 2 Diploma in

Highway Maintenance.

Entry requirements

No Formal entry qualifications. You need an appropriate work placement or employment. We may be able to help you to find a suitable position.
