Economics at Wimbledon College

Course description

The course comprises six modules. The first three units constitute the AS- Level with completion of the three A2 modules for the A Level. 1) a1 Markets- How they work. 2) A1- Markets- Why they fail. 3) A1 Managing the Economy. 4) A2 Industrial Economics. 5) A2- Labour Economics or Economic Development. 6) A2 The UK in the Global Economy.

Entry requirements

To follow the advanced Level 3 route you must have 5 or more GCSEs at Grade C or above. You just have Grade B in the AS level subject options you wish to study or Grade C in applied subject options.

Future opportunities

You could take this course with other advanced level courses to prepare foe higher education in areas of Economics, Business Studies, Accounting, Marketing or more general higher education courses. With further training, you could go into a job related to economics, business, marketing, finance and accounting, human resources and public relations. You could also look at doing a trainee management course within a business to gain the skills, understanding and experience that they require so you can progress to working at management level.
