Supporting Individuals with Learning Disabilities Level 3 Certificate at West Herts College
This highly practical course covers a number of areas including supporting individuals with their physical and emotional care, daily living needs and health care procedures and legislation.
This qualification is specifically designed for unsupervised carers or senior level workers who come into contact with or are supporting individuals with learning disabilities as part of their job role.
You will study a range of subjects:
The nature and characteristics of learning disability, support, legislation, communication and planning
Understanding the context of supporting individuals with learning disabilities
Child and young person development
Equality, diversity and inclusion
4 GCSEs (A*–C) including English language or a relevant course at Level 2 and a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check. You will then be invited to a course introduction meeting.
This course will support you to progress with further study including the Level 3 in Health and Social Care. With additional training the door will be open to work in a role supporting children, young people or adults with learning disabilities.
