Course description

Year 1 - This qualification develops the knowledge and skills for all those who wish to pursue further education or work in Health or Social Care settings in England.

The mandatory units provide learners with in-depth knowledge of key subject areas in health and social care. The units included are:

  • Equality, diversity and rights
  • Communication
  • Infection prevention and control
  • Human growth & development
  • Psychological Perspectives
  • Sociological Perspectives
  • Safeguarding

9 units graded A*-D

Course content

Year 2 - In year 2 you can choose a health or a social work pathway, where we will tailor the content of the units to reflect your desired career progression and/or university degree

Assessment

course work based - both internally and externally assessed

You will also be provided with an opportunity to study GCSE Maths alongside this programme if you have a grade D
