Course description

The qualification provides learners with the knowledge and skills needed to work within a vehicle accident repair environment.

Course content

Course themes:

• Health and safety within an automotive environment

• Removing and refitting mechanical and electrical systems and trim components.

Entry requirements

•You will need to be at least 16 years of age

•You must hold three GCSEs at Grade A* to C plus English and maths Grade 4/C or above and a Diploma in accident repair- mechanical, electrical and trim level 2.


•Good personal reference demonstrating acceptable level of attendance and commitment to hard work

•It is desirable that you have English and maths at grade C or above but this is not essential as Functional Skills is delivered as part of the apprenticeship programme.

•You need to be employed within an engineering role or have an employer in this area willing to take you on as an apprentice.


You will be assessed by your assessor using a portfolio of evidence, practical demonstrations and assignments. You will be assessed both in College and in your place of work.
