Course description

Paper 1: Education with Methods in Context (50%) In this paper, you will study a range of different topics. For example, the role of education; why certain groups (e.g. girls) do better than other groups (e.g. boys); how government policy affects education. In addition, you will learn how to apply your knowledge of research methods to a scenario linked to education.

Paper 2: Research Methods and Family (50%) In this paper, you will learn the strengths and limitations of a variety of research methods (e.g. questionnaires and field experiments). In addition, you will look at childhood; demographic changes; changes to family & household structures (e.g. more lone parents).

Entry requirements

Five or more GCSE's at grade C or 5.

Assessment

Examination 100%.
