Physical Education at Madeley Academy
Course description
You will receive guidance from the PE Department in selecting one of the following courses which suits your skills, learning style and individual needs.
Students on PE and Sport courses are expected to bring Academy sports kit, including a track suit to every lesson. There is also an expectation that you will represent the Academy in sports teams and/or attend extracurricular activities.
Course content
This course is divided between practical performance, which contributes 60% of the final grade and theoretical knowledge and understanding, which contributes 40% of the final grade.

Assessment
Students will be assessed in numerous practical activities from the following areas: games, gymnastics, dance, athletics, swimming and outdoor and adventurous activities. These assessments are made either during normal school time or away from school and can be in the form of a performer, leader, coach or other official.
