Course description

Why study the Subsidiary Diploma in Business? The Subsidiary Diploma in Business Studies is a qualification which allows you to gain a thorough understanding of activities relating to business operations and organization. It is equivalent to one A Level. What topics will I study? Four modules are compulsory and you will study two optional units from a wide range including accounting, marketing or business law. How will I be assessed? You will be assessed by the completion of a portfolio of evidence. This may be written, audio, visual or through presentations and role plays. An example of the type of work involved - Produce a set of financial documents for use in a business organization. Use Excel to create and monitor a budget for personal and business use. Interpret and understand the importance of the balance sheet and profit and loss account.

Entry requirements

GCSE at grade C or BTEC Level 2 Extended Certificate or OCR National at Merit

Future opportunities

On completion of this course you will be suited to progress to study for a degree in Business Studies or a business related degree or training or employment.
