Economics A Level at Strode's College

Course description

There has never been a better time to study Economics. After years of steady growth, societies are faced with high levels of national debt, the issue of bankersÕ bonuses, the potential collapse of the Eurozone and British banks being rescued by the government after problems in the American mortgage market. This course helps you to understand these and other issues. You need to be able to form logical arguments, analyse data and communicate your ideas effectively in writing.

Entry requirements

General entry requirements for a Level 3 Pathway, including at least 5 A* - B GCSE grades. Including a B in Maths GCSE. 

Subject specific requirements: grade B in Maths GCSE and a grade C in English Language GCSE or equivalent.

Future opportunities

Economics is an excellent preparation for studying Psychology, Geography, Politics, Law or Accountancy, as well as Economics at university. Economics also provides good preparation for careers in the Civil Service, Banks, City Brokerages, the Media and Aid Agencies.
