Geography - AS / A Level at St Alban's Catholic High School

Course description

The syllabus for the new A Level Geography examinations has not been finalised and we

only have a broad idea of what they will include. However, there has never been a better

or more important time to study geography. With growing interest in issues such as

climate change, migration, environmental degradation and social cohesion, geography

is one of the most relevant courses you could choose to study. The new syllabi are certain

to include all or most of these issues. Fieldwork is an integral part of the course and whilst

we try to keep costs as low as possible, the field-trips will cost in the region of £300.

Future opportunities

Geographers are highly employable. Studying Geography requires you to use many

skills such as problem solving, working in a group, numeracy, literacy and many more.

So whatever your passion for the world - fascination with globalisation or concerns about

climate changes - geography will provide you with knowledge and transferable skills that

will reward you personally and advance you professionally.
