Course description

If you enjoy working with a variety of materials and designing products suitable for commercial manufacture think about Product Design

Course content

This course will involve designing and making quality products and relating them to industrialpractices and processes. When producing products students will learn how to apply the various stages of the design process and use various processes in order to produce products they have developed. In Year 11 students will be given a commercially based task.  Students will be expected to produce a portfolio of work that demonstrates how they have followed the design process in order to produce a final manufactured item.

In Year 11 it is an expectation that students will participate in after school classes in order to ensure they complete their coursework to the highest possible standard. You will be expected to follow all health and safety rules in the design rooms (failure to do so may mean you will be excluded from certain activities).  At times you may have to share equipment so the ability to be able to work well with others is a must.
