Travel and Tourism at Trinity Academy

Course description

Below you will find some information regarding the BTEC Travel and Tourism course. Please note that there are some entry requirements for this course.

Course content

There are a wide range of units to choose from. Some are compulsory, and some are optional. A small sample of titles can be found below:
 Investigating the travel and tourism sector
 The business of travel and tourism
 The UK as a destination
 Customer service in travel and tourism
 Long-haul travel destinations
 Tour operations
 Working as a holiday representative
 Events, conferences and exhibitions

Entry requirements

Five A* - C grades including Maths and English are required to access this course.

Assessment

There are 12 units to study and all are based on work based scenarios that involve coursework only. Within each unit there will be opportunities for students to achieve merit and distinction level work as well as the pass grade.

Future opportunities

The course can lead directly to jobs in the travel and tourism industry like travel agency work, holiday resort representatives and airline cabin crew. Alternatively, it could lead to further study of the subject at university or in related fields such as hospitality management or event planning.
