Understand potential hazards.
Know how legislation, policies and procedures promote health safety and security.
Be able to implement a risk assessment.
Understand priorities and responses in dealing with incidents and emergencies

Unit 23 - Complementary Therapies for Health and Social Care:
Understand complementary therapies that can be used by users of health and social care services.
Understand the role of complementary therapies in relation to orthodox treatments.
Understand the role of complementary therapies in maintaining health and wellbeing.

Unit 4 - Development through the Life Stages:
Know stages of growth and development throughout the human lifespan.
Understand potential effects of life factors and events on the development of the individual.
Understand physical and psychological changes of ageing.

Unit 20 - Promoting Health Education:
Understand different approaches to health education.
Understand models of behaviour change.

Know types and indicators of abuse.

Understand the role of supportive relationships to promote the rights, independence and wellbeing of adults using health and social care services.

Unit 21: Nutrition for Health and Social Care:
Understand concepts of nutritional health.
Know the characteristics of nutrients.
Understand influences on dietary intake and nutritional health.
Be able to use dietary and other relevant information from an individual to make recommendations to improve nutritional health.
