Financial Studies is a course designed by The London Institute of Banking and Finance, offering students the chance to learn about the importance of personal finance.

Course content

All topics are designed to give students practical knowledge of how the financial aspects of their lives can be affected. The course allows students to transfer the knowledge from the classroom into their own lives so that they can become responsible handlers of their own finances both in the short and long term.

The Certificate in Financial Studies (CFS) has been designed to provide students with the core disciplines of financial capability. You will study two units, Financial Capability in the Immediate and Short Term and Financial Capability in the Long Term.

The course is designed to give students the knowledge and ability to make decisions on their finances based on changing needs as decisions in life change. In the second year, students who have completed the certificate move on to studying for the Diploma in Financial Studies (DipFS), which enhances the knowledge and skills gained from the Certificate in Financial Studies (CFS). The Diploma is equivalent to one A Level and ideal for students who hope to gain a sense of financial independence after leaving school.
