Sport BTEC Level 2 Diploma at City of Westminster College

Course description

Level 2 will build on base-level skills and exploring ways of expanding your ability to be reflective and evaluative against own progress both within a practical and theoretical context.

Outline of skills and knowledge

Areas of study will include Psychology for Sports Performance, Practical Sports & Fitness modules

Entry requirements

To be a successful applicant to any of our programmes in Sport you should have the following qualifications:

  • Be aged 16-19
  • Have minimum achievement 4 GCSEs at grade D or above, including English Language or equivalent Functional Skills Literacy qualification


  • Level 1 qualification at Merit or above with Functional Skills literacy Level E3 or L1

You will take an initial assessment at the interview and will need to achieve a score of Level 1 in order to gain access to the course.


You will be assessed continually through practical project work, coursework, written assignments and through giving presentations.

Future opportunities

Progression onto a Level 3 qualification such as the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Sport or Sport & exercise Sciences provided you have a background in Science such as a science GCSE. Level 3 courses provide a transferrable skills base for preparation for university or working within the sports industries, or for an apprenticeship
