Course description

The Barbering Apprenticeship is an ideal way to broaden your customer base to include men's hair and also to be certain that your staff are kept up-to-date with new techniques through practical training, as well as the relevant theoretical knowledge needed to work in this sector. The Apprentice will complete the following: - Diploma in Barbering Level 2 - Functional Skills Level 1 in Maths and EnglishExamples of units covered: - Health and Safety in the salon - Cut hair using basic techniques - Facial HairThe average duration of the course is 12 months. The programme is delivered at the workplace and Northampton College (Lower Mounts site) half a day per week.

Course content

Apprentices will gain practical skills and qualifications that your business needs both now and in the future. With a mix of on and off the job training they will learn the skills that work best for your business. Apprenticeships can make your business more productive and effective by addressing your skills gaps.

Entry requirements

You must be in relevant employment to start an Apprenticeship.

Assessment

The Diploma is evaluated through: - a series of practical- a portfolio of work. Functional Skills are assessed through examinations.
