Equine Studies – Level 2 Diploma at Sparsholt College

Course description

This course is ideal if you want to enhance your practical skills and knowledge for future employment in the equine industry or for higher level study.

Course content

You’ll enjoy practical and theory sessions to learn how to handle a variety of horses, develop your riding and husbandry skills and broaden your knowledge of subjects such as horse biology.  During the course you’ll visit a range of equine businesses and take part in trips to international events such as Badminton and Blenheim Horse Trials, helping you to gain a real insight into the industry.

If you are not a confident rider or do not wish to ride, a non-riding option is also available.

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs at grade D or above including English and/or Level 1 Diploma.

If you choose to do the riding option you will be assessed on your riding skills at interview.
