Health and Social Care Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship at New College Durham
This course is delivered employer responsively into your work place. You will gain evidence from your place of work that will go towards the achievement of your apprenticeship. This qualification develops the knowledge and skills needed when working with adults in Health and Social Care environments. It covers a wide range of areas including supporting individuals with their physical and emotional care, daily living needs and health care procedures. It has three pathways:Generic Health and Social CareDementiaLearning Disability Who is it suitable for? All those who wish to work, or are working in a supervised role with adults in Health and Social Care.
Your apprenticeship framework is made up of various components which include:
- SASE Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults) for ENgland
- Technical Certificate - SASE Level 2 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care
- Functional Skills - English Level 1, Mathematics Level 1
- Employee rights and responsibilities
You will be assessed by your tutor or assessor using a range of methods. This could include direct observation in the workplace, a portfolio of evidence, written assignments or a task set by SASE. Key Skills or Functional Skills - English Level 1, Mathematics Level 1 will be assessed by a portfolio of evidence and an externally assessed exam.
There are no academic requirements for this programme but you do need to be working to take the qualification as you need to show competence in both knowledge and skills.
