General Vehicle Maintenance E3 Diploma at Bishop Auckland College

Course description

This course is ideal if you’ve thought about what the Motor Trade might be like and want to know what a Mechanic has to do at work. It will give you the opportunity to work on a range of vehicles using tools and machinery that you would see in a garage. The course will also develop your entreprenurial skills as well as a focus on customer services.

Course content

The course is mostly spent in boots and overalls in our fully equipped workshop working on a range of modern cars. Some study is based in the classroom setting using up to date electronic learning packages, to give you the knowledge to back up what you do in the workshop. Functional Skills in Maths and English is also an equally important part of the programme.

Future opportunities

A good grounding in what is needed to start a career or enter a study programme to train as a Motor Vehicle Technician.

What can I do when I finish?

Progress to a full Level 1 programme split between the classroom and workshop to really build on what you have started to learn this year.
