If you are aged 16 - 19 and are unsure as to what you want to do next or wish to try out a few different things then this course is ideal for you. You will move onto this qualification after completing your 6 week initial assessment and the City & Guilds Award in Employability and Personal Development (Entry 3) (QCF)This course has been designed to help you gain the knowledge, understanding and skills you need to enter employment whilst gaining a nationally-recognised qualification.It will help with the development of your functional skills in English, Mathematics and ICT and you will learn a range of skills and techniques, personal qualities and attitudes essential for successful performance in working life.You will learn how to conduct yourself in the work place and which qualities employers look for in an employee, such as timekeeping, good attendance and a good attitude. You will also be taught how to be responsible for your own and other peoples' money, your rights and responsibilites at work, how to deal with any work problems and we will help you look into possible career paths and progression into a job or college. You will also get the opportunity to do work experience or try out tasters in different areas such as painting and decorating, motor vehicle, welding, joinery and gardening. This may help you to decide which career path you wish to pursue.This qualification can also be done alongside one of our specialised Motor vehicle or Business Administration courses.
This course is available to all 16 - 19 year olds who have completed the City & Guilds Award in Employability and Personal Development (Entry 3) (QCF), but the learner MUST commence the course at least 6 months prior to his/ her 19th birthday.
