Production Arts (Festival and Event Production) UAL Level 3 Diploma/Extended Diploma at Northbrook College Sussex
Festivals and events come in all different shapes and sizes and can be found in venues that include theatres, stadiums, fields and beaches. From events such as Glastonbury to Matilda in the West End, small size community festivals or large-scale productions, this is an exciting and creative sector to work in. This course will deliver how to plan, programme, promote and produce events in the theatre and music sector including: marketing, funding, logistics, promotion, legal, health & safety and production. After the course you will have developed skills that will equip you for working in the performing arts sector or, alternatively, progress to university level courses. Students will work in the Northbrook Theatre and collaborate on events and festivals.
To start on this course you need:
4 GCSEs at grades A* to C including either English or Maths (if you have A* to C in English, your Maths grade must be minimum D - or vice versa)
a relevant Level 2 qualification, including English and Maths requirements.
(If you will not have the above qualifications, you may be able to start by doing a year on the Level 2 course in Theatre Production before moving on to this Level 3 course.)
After 1 year you can achieve a University of the Arts London (UAL) Level 3 Diploma in Production Arts (Arts Management). This means you can apply for the Extended Diploma course (below).
After 2 years you can achieve a University of the Arts London (UAL) Extended Diploma in Production Arts (Arts Management). This is equivalent to 3 A Levels. This means you can apply for university level courses or seek work in the entertainment industry. You could also apply to many other specialist courses at universities/drama schools. The qualification attracts 180, 280 and 420 UCAS tariff points for Pass, Merit and Distinction grades respectively.
