Performing Arts BTEC Extended Diploma Level 3 at Burnley College

Course description

This is a multi-disciplinary performing arts course which develops experience and skills in drama, dance, music, technical and administrative support, balancing practical and academic achievement with a professional mature focus.

You will study a variety of disciplines such as sculpture, graphic design, photography, life drawing and painting, textiles, surface pattern design, TV, film and media production, acting, directing, stage management, music composition, sound recording, musical theory and instrumental and vocal skills.

Entry requirements

Five GCSEs at grade C or above including English Language or Mathematics OR A relevant Level 2 Diploma with Merit grade and a GCSE grade C in English Language or Mathematics.

Assessment

Assessment is via coursework and performance.

Future opportunities

Performing arts courses at university or drama school. It could also lead to a wide range of careers within the performing arts industry including theatre work, film and TV roles and production.

The extensive facilities accessed by our Creative Arts and Media students include Apple Mac and PC suites, art and design studios, a dance studio, a digital video suite including a chroma key studio, industry standard fashion design, textile printing and production facilities, multi-track digital sound recording studios and music and performance rehearsal spaces, including a 160-seater Performance Theatre.
