Health & Social Care Intermediate Apprenticeship at Weymouth College

Course description

1 Year Programme with weekly workshops at college. Apprenticeships are designed by employers for employers and are tailored to meet the needs of each specific sector. An apprenticeship will allow you to get qualified, get paid and get a career all in one go! These Apprenticeships cover a wide range of job roles on two pathways: the adult social care pathway and the health care pathway. There is a huge demand for qualified carers both locally and nationally.

Course content

• Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults) for England Level 2 (QCF) • Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care (QCF) • Functional Skills maths and English Level 1 • Employer rights and responsibilities.

Entry requirements

Applicants will be required to show evidence of their ability to be successful in the theoretical and practical parts of the course, during their interview. Completion of diagnostic tests in Literacy and Numeracy at Level 1 is required.


Assessed in work place by the Work-Based Learning Support Officer for Health & Social Care.

Future opportunities

Level 3 in Health & Social Care.
