French A Level at Kensington Aldridge Academy

Course description

Our outlook is becoming more global every day and languages are a vital skill in becoming a successful part of the modern world.

By studying French A Level at KAA, you will develop an appreciation of the nature and diversity of different cultures and people and acquire in-depth knowledge, language skills and understanding for your own practical use, further study and future employment. 

Course content

  • Literary text
  • Independent research project

Entry requirements

6 A*-C grades plus a grade 5 or above in both English (Lit and / or Lang) and Maths, with a B grade or above in the four AS subjects you wish to study (or closest equivalent)

Assessment

AS French lasts one year, with exams at the end.

A-level French lasts two years, with exams at the end of the second year. 

Future opportunities

In addition to language specific skills, you will also develop many transferable skills which are essential for university and beyond. These include communication skills, team working skills, interpersonal skills, presentational skills and problem solving skills.

Today, most companies are multinational and that makes language skills invaluable. Many also insist that graduates can speak a second language.
