Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship in Childcare at Henley College Coventry

Course description

Apprenticeships are a popular choice for young people looking for on-the-job training and the opportunity to gain nationally recognised qualifications whilst earning a wage.

You will study:

  • Level 2 certificate for the children and young people’s workforce
  • Functional skills Maths
  • English and ICT
  • level 1 or 2 Paediatric first aid
  • Level 2 award in employment
  • Rights and responsibilities in health, social care or children and young people’s settings

Apprenticeships have employed status, however, if you do not have a job then we will support you to find one.

Please note: Owing to the strict requirements of the law,to be considered for a placemen you will need a clear DBS Enhanced Disclosure in order to take the course.

You will be assessed by a variety of methods including taught sessions at Coventry College for one day a week and observations within the workplace.

On successful completion of a level 2 Apprenticeship you may progress to level 3 children and young people’s workforce if they have already secured and commenced a job role as a team leader/supervisor in the early years sector.

Entry requirements

You will ideally have achieved a GCSE grade C or above in Maths and English and you will need to pass initial assessment at interview.
