Biology (AQA A) at St Augustine's Catholic College

Course description

The AS course covers a range of different areas of Biology
including: human physiology and body systems, the impact of
disease on their function and the defensive mechanisms of
the blood. It also explores genetics and the diversity of life
and relates them to the concept of classification. The A2 year
develops these themes by introducing population biology and
the study of ecosystems and genetic variation. Students will
also look at control mechanisms in plants and animals, at
both the whole organism and cellular level.

Unit 3: Investigative and practical skills in AS Biology
A2 Units (Year 2)
Unit 4: Populations and environment
Unit 5: Control in cells and in organisms
Unit 6: Investigative and practical skills in A2 Biology
