Criminology offers students the opportunity gain a wealth of knowledge linked to criminal justice.

This exciting course gives stimulating grounding in the study of Criminology.

You will have the opportunity to acquire both practical and academic skills through applied learning, and study the criminal justice sector.

This vocational qualification in criminology enables students to specialise in their individual areas of interest.

Course content

This interesting qualification investigates a number of areas including criminological theories, social policy, crime and punishment and crime and societies.

  • An average point score appropriate for your chosen pathway from all your GCSE subjects

Future opportunities

By studying this qualification students will gain the knowledge to progress and consider employment within some aspects of the criminal justice sector e.g. Probation Service or to university study for a degree in the crime & society field.

      Career 6 will be based at The Academy Grimsby (TAG). 

      The TAG ethos of understanding the students and enabling them all to grow as individuals will flow into Career 6 and the bespoke stand-alone campus will grow with the sixth form.

      All school leavers will be welcome to apply and will be given a personal interview as part of the admissions process. Aspirational targets will be set as part of that personal discussion to ensure the chosen pathway is right for the student.
