Food Technology AS/A2 Level at Gillingham School

Course description

This subject has a large practical element. You will be cooking most weeks, sometimes twice a week,as well as developing high level practical skills, and you will have the opportunity to study nutrition and design. Knowledge of food science and of a wide rangeof materials and components used in the making of food products will be developed.

The Food Technology course has been designed to develop your scientific understanding of the functional and nutritional properties of food. You also study the technology of food production and have the opportunity to develop both your practical and designing skills to develop a food product of your own.

Entry requirements

C grade in a GCSE Design subject or B in GCSE Catering
