Further Mathematics at Cardinal Newman Catholic School

Course description

Further Mathematics is a double A-level course and involves students studying the units on the A-level Mathematics course with Mechanics or Statistics, plus six additional units. Students often study Further Mathematics as they enjoy the greater challenge it poses and it allows them to study both Mechanics and Statistics. Other students study Further Mathematics to increase their chances of an A-grade in the single Mathematics course as it helps them understand those topics in more detail.

Finally, an important reason for students is that it can increase the possibility of gaining a place on a degree course in Mathematics, as well as other degree courses that require Mathematics.
