Media Studies AS & A Level at Felpham Community College
The expected A-Level will comprise of issues and debates in the media centered around a particular topic and the analysis of a wide range of media products, learning how to apply a range of theoretical frameworks to their analysis. Both of these areas will focus the core media areas of language, industries, audiences and representation; using a range of examples from across the media.
Students will be expected to create an individual practical production from a range of different briefs, covering television, music videos, radio, online content, print and video games.
Please note that 18 rated content may form part of the material studied for this course.
A minimum of five A* to C at GCSE including grade B or above in media if studied.
Exam: Externally set exams (70%) and Coursework (30%).
