Animal Management Level 3 at Achievement Training & Skills LTD
You have some experience in Animal Care or have previously gained a Level 2 qualification and want to develop your skills to be a senior employee or manager. This course will prepare you for higher-level training. A placement within the animal care sector is required.
In the first year you will work towards the Subsidiary in Animal Management progressing onto the Diploma in Animal management in the second year. You will gain an in-depth insight into the techniques and science of animal management. Topics covered are; animal biology, animal husbandry and animal nutrition. You will gain practical experience, from wildlife surveys to animal training.
- Manage animal accommodation
- Animal anatomy and physiology
- Understand and interpret animal behaviour and communication
- Understand and promote animal health
- Plan and monitor animal feeding
- Understand the principles of animal biology
Within our Animal Care centre we have a wide range of small animals to support your practical learning. For each unit your assessor observes and asks questions as you perform different tasks, creating a portfolio of formal evidence.
The Subsidiary Diploma in Animal Management Level 3 is designed to help you find work within the animal care sector and prepare you for Higher Education as these qualifications attract UCAS points.
