In AS we look at basic approaches to the subject and look at famous studies in human behaviour. In A2 we consider the nature of human experience and the factors that influence it, forensic psychology, and some of the major issues in modern psychology such as cultural biases.
What skills can I gain from studying Psychology?
You gain knowledge of human behaviour, research skills, critical analysis skills, plus the skill of writing structured and logical scientific communications.
National data shows that this course is suitable for students with an average GCSE points score of 42 or more.
Students can access any careers or courses relating to human behaviour and Psychology forms a component of many training courses where people are the main focus (human relations, advertising, policing, medical careers etc.). For some universities Psychology counts as a science subject for entry, for others as a humanities subject.
