The GCE Advanced Level in Business Studies aims to encourage students to investigate different types of organisations in various business sectors and environments, recognising that they face varying degrees of competition. Students learn to identify business problems and how to plan appropriate investigations into such problems. They also develop a holistic understanding of business and enterprise and are able to make justifiable decisions, using both quantitative and qualitative methods. GCE Business gives learners the knowledge, understanding and skills they need to prepare for employment and higher education.
Students require a Grade 5 in English Language and a grade 5 in Mathematics at GCSE.
GCE Business provides a route to employment into the many diverse areas of business. These include roles in specialist areas such as management, marketing, finance, customer service or human resources in large organisations or a more generic role in a small local business. On successful completion of GCE Business a learner can progress to continue their study in the same or a related vocational area at university.
