Physical Education - A Level (AQA) at HARTPURY COLLEGE

Course description

If you’re keen on sport you can make a healthy living from your passion. Whether that’s working for a football club, as a personal trainer at the local gym, training to be a physiotherapist or sports scientist, or working for a national governing body, there are lots of opportunities.

Course content

The course includes study of applied exercise physiology, including nutrition and the respiratory and cardiovascular systems, joints, muscles and the mechanics of human movement. Contemporary issues look at elite performers and world games plus deviance and commercialisation in sport. Do you play at least one sport regularly and to a good level? Are you keen to learn about how good nutrition and sensible use of ergogenic aids can improve performance? Are you interested in how different training methods affect the body and so improve performance and health?
