Culinary Skills Level 1 Certificate at Middlesbrough College

Course description

Topics undertaken will include: Health & Safety and Food Safety You will study a variety of food preparation, cooking techniques and skills including boiling, poaching, steaming, stewing and braising, baking, roasting and grilling.

Entry requirements

No formal qualifications are required; however, applicants are expected to express an interest and enthusiasm for the Hospitality Industry. "If you do not have a Grade A to C in English and/or Maths, you will be required to continue studying these subjects as part of your Study Programme."


Assessment will be completed through a range of practical tests and short answer papers.
