Painting and Decorating Advanced Apprenticeship Level 3 at PETROC

Course description

Making buildings look their best with a perfect finish, the Apprenticeship in Decorative Occupations is studied over two years. Students in the first year will take the Construction Diploma Level 2.

Theory sessions will be taught in fully equipped classrooms with Smart Boards and other teaching and learning devices. Workshops will be used to deliver the practical training.

Entry requirements

You must be employed in the relevant industry. Minimum GCSE grade C in Maths and English or Functional skills in English and Maths Level 2 or successful completion of Level 2 Decorative Occupations course.


A trained and skilled assessor will visit you in the workplace to monitor your progress and to assess your skills and knowledge. The assessor will give you targets to achieve until the next visit.

Future opportunities

On completion of this course you will be fully qualified, however may wish to progress to a supervisory or management qualifications or a Foundation Degree.
