Plastering Level 3 Diploma at Accrington and Rossendale College

Course description

This qualification consists of 40% practical work and 60% theory work. Your practical work takes place in purpose-built workshops where you work your way towards units and phase tests that are assessed by Qualified Assessors. Theory sessions underpin the practical work by covering Trade Technology and associated subjects. Over the year, you will achieve the qualifications by attending college on a day release and evening basis, with 4 block weeks.

You will be assessed by practical phase tests, job knowledge questions, and an externally set examination.

Entry requirements

You will need to have  completed your Level 2 plastering qualification, and ideally you will have completed functional skills in Maths & English. You will also need to attend an interview.


Assessment of the qualification will be by online end of unit theory tests and practical tests for each unit of study.

Future opportunities

Completion of the Diploma Level 3 will enhance your prospects of gaining employment or it will enable you to progress onto a BTEC Professional Construction courses to Higher National Certificate.
