Cosmetic Make-Up & Beauty Consultancy - VTCT Level 2 Certificate at East Durham College

Course description

Learners will attend 3 hours each week. The session will comprise of theory and practical tasks as well as health and safety requirements in the workplace. This is a vocational qualification including mandatory units of applying make-up, client care, health and safety. Additional units include eyelash and eyebrow treatments, displaying stock to promote sales and services.

The content of this qualification is comprised of make-up techniques, lash and brow techniques and promoting sales.


Entry requirements

Candidates will need to have achieved a Level 1 Beauty Therapy would be desirable and allow candidates to build on existing knowledge. Learners under 19 years of age will need to complete functional skills or GCSE depending on qualifications already achieved.


The course is assessed through online tests, assignments and practical assessment.

Financial information

If you have been a UK resident for the past 3 years and are under the age of 19 on the 31st August, you will not usually need to pay any course fees.

Future opportunities

After successfully completing the course you will be able to work in a retail concession in a department store. You can work independently, self-employed either mobile or in home based settings.
