Carpentry C-Skills Level 1 Diploma at Carshalton College

Course description

This course provides you with the opportunity to develop your Carpentry Skills from a basic level.

You will also further your knowledge in Literacy and Numeracy. 

In addition there is a further unit of learning Personal Social Development (PSD).

Course content

Modules studied include:

  • Health and Safety
  • Access Equipment used on construction sites
  • Manual handling
  • The use of a variety of hand tools that allow you to produce a range of joints and products.

Entry requirements

Two GCSEs at Grade E or above,  or successful completion of the BTEC Level 1 Diploma Award are required, together with a successful interview.

A reference from a current course tutor or school will be required, with excellent behaviour and punctuality reports.

Financial information

Fees are not normally paid by 16 to 18 year olds.

Students must provide their own Protection Equipment (overalls and safety boots). Practical classes cannot be completed without this important equipment

Successful completion of  ALL the course framework will allow you the opportunity to progress on to a higher level of course and also offers excellent training opportunities to assist in working towards a career in the Construction Industry.
