OCR Cambridge Technical Level 3 Introductory Diploma in Media at Hele's School
Most skills will be developed and applied as part of the course, however an ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential. The course contains many practical opportunities, so a willingness to develop specific ICT skills (e.g. Photoshop, Final Cut) is necessary. Of course, students will be expected to be interested in the media.
The Cambridge Tec in Media has been developed by OCR, working with the University of Cambridge, to offer a creative and inspiring qualification. There are no external assessments (no exams) giving students the freedom to match the course to learning styles and ability. Students will complete six self-selected units from a choice of forty and present this work in a portfolio to be assessed by their teacher and verified by OCR. The units offer a wide range of study options within the media; including film and magazine production, radio broadcasting, video games production, web authoring, photography, music production, acting for the screen, comics and graphic novels.
At least 5 A*-C including English and Maths.
Usually a minimum of Grade C at GCSE Media or Literature.
