IT Helpdesk Technician Apprenticeship Level 2 at Escalla

Course description

As an IT Helpdesk Technician, you would be the first point of contact for people in your company or possibly in clients companies when they are experiencing problems with software and/or hardware.

This is one of the most common starting places for people who work in IT. It’s a great place to learn the ropes and see how technology is used in companies.

Course content

Depending on the company you work for, you’ll be taking in calls and emails from people experiencing problems.

In either case, you would ask leading questions to troubleshoot and resolve issues such as:

  • Hardware failure (e.g. a broken printer)
  • Software problems
  • Server or network failure

Sometimes the solution to a problem will be incredibly simple and obvious. Other times you may encounter a problem you haven’t experienced before.

In any case you will definitely get an opportunity to ask “Have you tried switching it off and on?”
