Hospitality and Catering Certificate Level 1 at City College Plymouth

Course description

Want to get started in the hospitality industry? You might want to work as a chef, kitchen assistant, housekeeper, waitress or hotel receptionist. Whatever area you're interested in, we'll be able to teach you the skills you need on this course. 

Course content

This course will teach you the skills required to progress to employment or further study in four main areas; accommodation services, food and beverage service, food preparation and cooking and hospitality services. 

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course, although an interest in and basic understanding of hospitality work would be an advantage.

Assessment

Assessment will be through practical tasks and assignments. 

Future opportunities

On successful completion of this course, you may wish to progress to the level 2 in Hospitality and Catering, or another hospitality and catering course at the College, focusing your attention on a specific area.
