All of our staff has worked in industry within their own areas of expertise. This allows our learners to have first hand experience and knowledge from staff that are able to support and guide our learners to industry standards whilst learning the area of art and design of their choice.

We are fortunate to have a number of Live Briefs that run throughout the two year study programme. This enables our learners to work to industry standards learning how to prepare work for clients and to send work to print. We have had a number of clients including the NHS. Every year we team up with the media students who write articles for our student magazine 'Traffic'. Our Art & Design students design, illustrate and shoot photographs for the magazine before completely designing it themselves and assembling it ready for print. The magazine is then distributed all of the South West.

We have a range of trips throughout the two years where students are able to visit design studios and art galleries. We have regular visits from companies and individuals to give students guidance about their own area of practice. We also have our London trip where we have the opportunity to visit Cartoon Network meeting all of the designers and artists who assemble and illustrate cartoons for Nickelodeon. We also have the opportunity it visit a range of galleries, go to the London eye, shopping and much, much more.

We give our students the opportunity to tailor the assignments to their own desired areas of expertise allowing them to build on their own unique individuality, making their work a cut above the rest of the competition. This helps to build confidence and give our students the edge when attending interviews for university or building on a career within the arts.
