ICT OCR Tech Level 3 at The Maelor School

Course description

ICT is developing rapidly and is constantly changing and improving the way we interact, communicate, work and run companies. The ICT industry has diversified the modern working world, creating new jobs, products and services that now exist because ICT has created a need for them. The ICT course is an OCR Tech Level 3 and is equivalent to 1AS/A2. This vocational qualification is highly valued within the industry for both the content within it and the skills developed.
In ICT, you will learn to work collaboratively and apply your knowledge and skills to solve a range of problems. You will also develop an understanding of the use of ICT across society and industry. The course is highly practical but there are also extensive written components which will challenge and develop your communication skills further.
ICT combines well with many subjects. It is also useful in any future career path. Students who are interested in the computer science side of ICT also need to take Maths, whereas those who would like a career in the design and multimedia side could consider Art as an option.
