OCR Cambridge Sport Science Level 2 at Nottingham Academy

Course description

If you have a passion for sport and aspire to work in a

sporting environment, then this sport science course will start

you on that journey in education.

Course content

The Cambridge Nationals in sport science offer you the

opportunity of studying key areas of sport science including

anatomy and physiology linked to fitness, health, injury and

performance; the science of training and application of training

principles, psychology in sport and sports performance.

 

Units covered:

– Reducing the risk of sports injuries.

– Applying principles of training.

– Sport psychology.

– The body’s response to physical activity.

Entry requirements

This course provides the foundation for entry to more

advanced levels of study. For example, through completing this

course successfully students may be able to move on to study

A level PE or level 3 sport.

Assessment

– Coursework 75%.

– Examination 25%.
