Adult Skills – Employability at Linkage Community Trust

Course description

Linkage’s Adult Skills service offers great opportunities for you to inspire yourself.

We offer expert and friendly staff, great facilities and huge range of opportunities for getting involved in the world of work, in the community and for learning how to do more and new things for yourself.

Adult Skills is a completely flexible programme and can be started at any time during the year. You can join us for half a day, a full day or for two, three, four or five days a week and you can start at any point during the year. It’s all built around YOUR goals!

Course content

If you want to learn more about work, an employability-based programme can be designed to enable you to develop transferable work skills – the skills you need to be an effective employee. You will also learn about teamwork, how to present yourself, punctuality, health and safety and interview skills. We can give you opportunities and support to experience work in a number of real work settings, as well as in the community with local employers.

We also have Job Coaches who provide the support you will need once you are ready to move onto the next stage of getting a work placement. Linkage has an excellent record of helping people move into work.

Awards and Qualifications

You can gain qualifications through your study programme including: English, Maths nd ICT; Entry Level 3 - Level 2/3 Creative Media: Entry Level 3 - Level 1 Caretificate in Employability and Personal Development: Entry Level 3 - Level 1 Edexel Art / Performing Arts: Level 1 Sports Leadership Award: Level 1 Vocational qualifications: Entry Level 3 - Level 2.

Future opportunities

Work Skills Team

Our experienced Work Skills team co-ordinates and manages internal work placements and external work experience opportunities for our students. This helps to optimise their opportunities in progressing onto Supported Internships, Traineeships, Apprenticeships, supported and paid employment.

Adult Skills programmes are available at different Linkage sites in Lincolnshire, including Toynton (near Spilsby) and Louth. However, you can be supported flexibly and also on an ‘outreach’ basis, closer to your home, if you wish. The Moving On Partnership in Grimsby provides Adult Skills programmes for those living in North East Lincolnshire and is accessible for Lincolnshire and North Lincolnshire residents who live within travelling distance of Grimsby.

We can also offer short-term placements, including holiday activities, to suit individual client needs, so please get in touch to tell us about your particular requirements.
