A-Levels - A Level Further Mathematics at Wakefield College

Course description

This course is designed to be studied alongside A Level Mathematics and introduces new topics such as complex numbers and proof. If you are successful in AS Further Maths in your first year you will be able to continue to the full A2 in the second year.

Course content

What you will study

The syllabus is modular with one pure maths and two mechanics modules. Students wishing to take Further Maths should be aware that the course will only run if sufficient numbers are interested.

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs at grade A*-C (or new grade 9-4),  including English Language, and a grade A*/A (or new grade 9-7) in Maths
AND
Studying A Level Maths

Assessment

Assessment is by exam at the end of the course. There will also be weekly assessments and regular homework.

Course Costs (subject to change)

Tuition and certification are free if you are aged 16-18 years old. Related additional costs may include materials, equipment, visits, residentials etc which are payable by all students.
Any student entered/registered with an Awarding Body who has been given free entry and then withdraws or is withdrawn by a tutor will incur the certification fee associated with the course. Any re-sit examination will incur a cost.

Different fees apply to international students.
