Geography at Ormiston Shelfield Community Academy

Course description

What the subject is about: The course builds upon existing GCSE knowledge and includes topics which will be new to the students such as social, political and historical geography as well as the detailed investigation in Physical Geography of topics such as glaciation, biogeography and meteorology. Geography examines the issues of change in our human and physical environment. Students study how the past can affect the present and how the present may affect the future. There is an emphasis on geographical change at a range of scales through a study of contemporary issues and existing land patterns

    •  We are the only secondary school in the Black Country to hold FA Centre status.  Students who attend the Football Academy will combine guided learning hours in the Football Academy alongside their Sixth Form subjects.  There is also the opportunity for students to stay on in Year 14 to follow our Apprenticeship Programme or to take advantage of the links we have with football coaching camps in the USA or our links with the University of Worcester to access higher education.
